A 5-Day Tour of Extraordinary Wildlife Watching Experiences

A 5-day Tour of Extraordinary Wildlife Watching Experiences

Summary:

Come and join Treeswift Wildlife & Nature on a big wildlife-packed adventure into the stunning East Gippsland region, where the rainforest meets the sea. This vast and picturesque landscape of ancient old growth forest, mountains of she-oak, pristine sandy beaches, wide flowing rivers, and hectares of flowering heath and coastal banksia is home to some of the rarest and most unique birds, mammals, reptiles, and frogs on the planet.

Treeswift Wildlife & Nature invite you to join us for 5-days, exploring and experiencing all this region has to offer in the warmth and migrant-rich season of Spring and Summer. Prepare to be blown away by the beauty of this landscape and wonder at its inhabitants as we visit all the forests, islands, river systems, heathland, and coastlines – photographing, watching, and marvelling as we go. Key species will include Greater Sooty Owl, Eastern Ground Parrot, Glossy Black Cockatoo, Powerful Owl, Koala, Common Bottlenose Dolphin, Eastern Pygmy Possum, Superb Lyrebird, Satin Bowerbird, Channel-billed Cuckoo, Rose Robin, Southern Leaf Green Tree Frog, Hooded Plover, Red-necked Wallaby, Azure Kingfisher, Lace Monitor, Australian Water Dragon, Common Wombat, Beautiful Firetail, Leseur’s Frog, Coastal She-oak Slender Bluetongue, Scarlet Myzomela, Yellow-bellied Glider, Sugar Glider, Blue Mountains Tree Frog, Wonga Pigeon, Scarlet Robin, Square-tailed Kite, and many, many, MANY, more! Expect to see over 200 animals over our five days!

How Does It Work?

Participants get themselves to Mallacoota, where we will be based for the 5 days. Participants can rent or stay at whatever accommodation suits their needs and budgets. Each day, you will meet the Treeswift Wildlife team in a 12-seater transit vehicle and transported to and from all the locations. You will be led by a team of expert guides and professional photographers who will help you to experience this region to the fullest. To ensure our disturbance of wildlife is minimal and that you get as much one-on-one team with our guides, our group is capped at 10 participants. Lunch is included on the first day and dinner is included on the last night. Participants have access to all field gear and equipment (spotlights, scopes, tripods, field guides, checklists, thermal monocular, bat detectors, etc) as well as water, tea/coffee, soft drink, snacks, etc.
