Summary:

Come and join Treeswift Wildlife & Nature on a big wildlife-packed adventure into the extraordinary Mallee country of northern Victoria. This vast and picturesque landscape rooted in red soil features endless mallee scrub, winding tributaries of River Red Gum, grassy plains, saltbush open country, salt lakes and some of the country’s most extraordinary nocturnal skies. It is home to some of the rarest and most unique birds, mammals, reptiles, frogs, orchids, and plant life on the planet.

Treeswift Wildlife & Nature invite you to join us for 5-days, exploring and experiencing all this region has to offer in the cooler part more accessible month of late August, just as everything is starting to warm up, bud and return for early spring!

Prepare to be blown away by the beauty of this landscape and wonder at its inhabitants as we visit key locations such as Hattah-Kulkyne National Park, Murray Sunsets National Park, Neds Corner Station, Lake Tyrrell, Ouyen, the Murray River, and many other locations along the way! Key species will include Striated Grasswren, Red-lored Whistler, Malleefowl, Mallee Emuwren, Cockatiel, Chestnut Quailthrush, Red Kangaroo, White-winged Fairywren, Sand Goanna, Pink Cockatoo, Splendid Fairywren, Black Falcon, Broad-shelled Turtle, De Vis Banded Snake, Emu, Hooded Robin, Orange Chat, Barking Frog, Common Prickly Gecko, Rufous Fieldwren, Zebra Finch, Regent Parrot, Mallee Dragon, Southern Scrub Robin, Western Grey Kangaroo, Mitchell’s Hopping Mouse, and many, many, MANY, more! How Does It Work?

Participants get themselves to Mildura, where we will be based for the 5 days. Participants can rent or stay at whatever accommodation suits their needs and budgets. Each day, you will meet the Treeswift Wildlife team in a 12-seater transit vehicle and transported to and from all the locations. You will be led by a team of expert guides and professional photographers who will help you to experience this region to the fullest. To ensure our disturbance of wildlife is minimal and that you get as much one-on-one team with our guides, our group is capped at 10 participants. Lunch is included on the first day and dinner is included on the last night. Participants have access to all field gear and equipment (spotlights, scopes, tripods, field guides, checklists, thermal monocular, bat detectors, etc) as well as water, tea/coffee, soft drink, snacks, etc.
